For example, waking between 1:00 and 3:00 a.m. is traditionally associated with the liver, which in TCM is linked to processing tension and restoring internal balance. Waking between 3:00 and 5:00 a.m. is connected to the lungs, symbolically tied to breathing and emotional release. While these interpretations are rooted in tradition rather than modern clinical research, some people find them helpful for reflecting on stress and emotional well-being.
