Southern 4-Ingredient Cucumber Sandwiches

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Prep the Cucumbers: Peel the cucumbers (or leave strips of skin for color) and slice them into very thin rounds. Place them on a paper towel and lightly salt them to remove excess water.

  2. Prepare the Bread: Take two slices of fresh white bread and spread a generous, even layer of cream cheese on one side of each slice.

  3. Assemble: Layer the dried cucumber slices over the cream cheese on one slice of bread. Top with the second slice, cream-cheese side down.

  4. Trim and Cut: Use a sharp serrated knife to remove the crusts from all four sides. Cut the square diagonally twice to create four small triangles.

  5. Serve: Arrange on a silver platter as shown in your photo for a classic presentation.
