Ingredients
- 1 large green cabbage
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef or ground pork
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the whole cabbage and cook for 5–7 minutes until the leaves soften.
- Carefully remove and separate the leaves.
- In a bowl, combine ground meat, rice, onion, egg, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Place about 2 tablespoons of filling on each cabbage leaf and roll tightly, folding in the sides.
- Arrange the rolls in a baking dish or pot.
- Pour tomato sauce over the cabbage rolls.
- Cover and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 1 hour, or simmer on the stovetop for 45–50 minutes.
- Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
